About

Patricia Zapata is a graphic designer that lives in Texas with her husband and two children. In 2001 she launched Zapata Design, a graphic design boutique that caters to small and mid-sized companies in the creation of logos and corporate identity packages.
In 2004 A Little Hut intially offered stationery and hand cut paper illustrations. A year later, Patricia started writing a blog by the same name. She still writes about her handmade work and ideas for future projects.
Even though A Little Hut has transformed from the original stationery line it started with, the core elements of Patricia’s designs have stayed the same. She works with graphic images as well as nature inspired themes and applies them to the creation of paper illustrations, cutting files and fabric.
Patricia’s paper and recycling designs have been featured in many online publications such as Craft, Apartment Therapy, Ohdeedoh, Re-nest, Decor8, Poppytalk, Lifehacker, Bloesem and Design Sponge among others. She has published tutorials on the Craft magazine and site and was a guest crafter on HGTV’s That’s Clever.
Her first book, Home, Paper, Scissors: Decorative Paper Accessories for the Home was published in 2009. It is a collection of more than 30 paper craft projects that use paper and recyclable materials. The book has been featured in Do It Yourself Magazine and in Martha Stewart radio.
In 2009 Patricia was a guest crafter on Going Green with Yolanda Green a Houston TV show where she shared environmentally friendly projects.
